Edward Lara


Edward Lara is a trial lawyer and partner of LARA & LUNA, APC. Mr. Lara has been practicing law since 2000 and has successfully litigated numerous disputes before Courts and arbitration tribunals throughout the State of California. Mr. Lara is a dedicated advocate of employee rights and regularly prosecutes claims relating to discrimination, retaliation, and harassment on the basis of disability, age, sex, race, and other protected categories under California's Fair Employment and Housing Act. Mr. Lara also prosecutes claims relating to Labor Code violations, including wage & hour claims and claims of retaliation under California's Whistleblower laws designed to protect employees who report what they reasonably believe are legal violations by their employer. Mr. Lara has represented both management and non-management level employees in a wide variety of industries including but not limited to: manufacturing, construction, hotel, entertainment, job staffing, restaurant, sales and marketing, large and small retail business, aerospace, medical, home-care, hospice, non-profit, grocery, automotive, property management and technology industries.

Prior to co-founding Lara & Luna APC Mr. Lara spent several years practicing law and learning his craft with large prestigious firms in West Los Angeles, a boutique litigation firm in Long Beach, and his own private practice. Mr. Lara's passion for employment law stems from his working-class family upbringing in the southeast region of Los Angeles County (in the areas of Pico Rivera, Whittier, and Santa Fe Springs). Mr. Lara frequently draws upon not only his legal experience and education, but also the common sense and "street smarts" he learned growing up in the area which he now proudly serves. Mr. Lara is a staunch advocate of the legal protections he seeks to enforce and sincerely believes that adherence to and prosecution of these laws benefits not only employees but also employers and ultimately our society.

Mr. Lara is proud that Lara & Luna APC always seeks to staff its matters with teams of highly qualified trial lawyers who passionately believe in their clients and who can readily confront any large or small defense counsel retained employers or their insurance companies.


Mr. Lara is a year 2000 graduate of Columbia University School of Law in New York City. While at Columbia, Mr. Lara served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Alex Kozinski of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Lara also served as the Vice President of the Latin American Law Student Association and was a staff editor for both the Columbia Business Law Review and the Columbia Human Rights Law Review.

Mr. Lara graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1997 with a B.A. in double major in Political Science and Sociology. While at UC Berkeley, Mr. Lara was a California Alumni Association Leadership Scholar and a Philanthropy Chair with the Mortar Board National Senior Honors Society. He is a Golden Bear Lifetime Member of the California Alumni Association.

Mr. Lara is fluent in Spanish and his interests primarily include raising his two boys. He also enjoys basketball, hot yoga, traveling, art, movies, and is an avid sports fan.

Attorney Linda Luna Lara

Linda Luna Lara is a partner of LARA & LUNA APC and is dedicated to enforcing employee's rights in the workplace and prosecuting claims against employers for discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower retaliation and wrongful termination. She has successfully represented a wide variety of employees, from executive management to hourly staff, who work in different industries. She has recovered over millions of dollars in settlements for her clients. Her litigation experience includes obtaining verdicts in jury and bench trials, participating in arbitrations, opposing motions for summary judgment, taking depositions and successfully litigating matters to conclusion for her clients against employers who violate the law. Ms. Lara has been featured on the cover of the Orange County Lawyer Magazine as the "Employee's Advocate", has been named as a "Super Lawyer", and has a rating of 10/10 on AVVO. From a very young age, Ms. Lara nurtured a passion for the rights of employees which she gained not only by navigating through injustices not only in her own workplaces, but also those of her family members.

She was admitted to the California State Bar in 2005 and has spent several years successfully prosecuting claims of illegal discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination and wage and hour violations, on behalf of employees whose legal rights were violated in the workplace. Prior to co-founding LARA & LUNA APC, Ms. Lara practiced with respected litigation firms in Orange County in the areas of employment law, class actions, insurance defense, and personal injury. Ms. Lara gained valuable experience handling trials on her own very early on in her career. Ms. Lara also served as in-house corporate legal counsel for a major international airline. As part of her duties Ms. Lara managed and oversaw outside legal defense counsel in connection with investigation of employment claims, class actions and intellectual property issues. This experience provided Ms. Lara with critical insight into the legal relationships between companies, any insurance adjusters, and outside legal counsel. Ms. Lara uses that insight to this day in litigating matters, negotiating with defense counsel, and trying cases.


Linda received her Juris Doctor from Chapman University, School of Law in 2005. She also did a legal study abroad at Universidad De Cantabria, Santander, Spain.

Linda obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from California State University, Fullerton. At CSUF she served as Executive Vice President of the student body and studied at the Panetta Institute for Public Policy created and taught by former White House Chief of Staff Leon Panetta.

Attorney Inna Kaminer, Esq.

After graduating from law school, Ms. Kaminer joined Lara & Luna and has successfully represented our clients in court by participating in a jury trial and assisting in securing a verdict for violation of meal and rest break policies, taking depositions, defeating employers’ motions for summary judgments, obtaining sanctions for successful motions to compel and has assisted in securing positive resolutions on behalf of our clients for various employment matters.

During law school Ms. Kaminer also gained litigation experience externing for the Employment Litigation Department of the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office and working as a law clerk for litigation firms in Los Angeles from 2013 through 2016.

Ms. Kaminer grew up in West Hollywood in Los Angeles County and enjoys reading crime novels, dancing, cooking and spending time with her dog Rocco.


Inna obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from University of California, Irvine.

Inna received her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles in 2016. At Loyola, Ms. Kaminer was on the Deans Honor list, Moot Court and she served as a Note and Comment Editor on the Entertainment Law Review Journal where was published in 2016 for her Note, “Set the Statutes Straight: Amending the Lanham Act to Dispel the Confusion Regarding Reverse Confusion," which was republished in Thomson Reuters 2017 Intellectual Property Law Review.

Attorney Gerardo J. Sosa, Esq.

Mr. Sosa joined Lara & Luna APC the Summer of 2017 and holds a strong client-centered approach to litigating through disputes with employers. He has demonstrated a commitment to pursuing all angles of discovery, fighting for that discovery in Court, and thoroughly investigating the facts and witnesses supporting each case. Mr. Sosa is passionate about helping employees who face illegal treatment at work achieve the best result possible for themselves, their families, and the community. Through his work at Lara & Luna APC, Mr. Sosa has been successful in defeating an employer's motion to compel arbitration and obtaining court orders compelling employers to properly respond to discovery. Mr. Sosa has also defended and taken depositions in discrimination, retaliation, and harassment cases. Prior to joining Lara & Luna APC, Mr. Sosa practiced with an insurance defense firm, where he gained experience in law and motion and different stages of the discovery process.

Mr. Sosa is fluent in Spanish and in his spare time he enjoys building computers, reading science fiction novels, and drinking teas with his wife.


Mr. Sosa received his Juris Doctor from University California, Irvine in 2016 where he was the recipient of the Dean's Merit Scholarship. He received his B.S. in Political Science from California State University, Los Angeles in 2011.
